Sound probs with Redhat 7.3 - Aureal vortex

Ever sinse I have installed Redhat 7.3 I have had no sound, I was told to sndconfig to configure my sound card, when i did this i got the message "Aureal vortew soundcard detected" then clicked ok and got the message "Aureal vortex soundcard not supported"

I am stuck, how can I enable sound under Linux?
DO i need drivers now, if so where can i ge t them from?

Yeah, those aureal cards can be a complete waste of time under linux, as the project on them dropped out a while ago (at least when I was trying to get my mom's PC setup it did, maybe it's back, or maybe I just sucked really bad back then, probably both :D), so you may have more trouble than it's worth, and you may just want to hunt around for a SB compatible card, plug it in, and mess with it instead. You can probably pick one up, including shipping for ~$15. Of course this is US, so whatever the conversion is. I bet you could probably bum one for free from some local geek shop that fixes computers. You might have to swap em for a copy of RH or something, but they are usually pretty cool.

Cool

Just a note,
I got the same error with RH 7.2. It told me that I had the vortex yoki as well, but I don't; I have a SB. I have fixed this before by reading http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Sound-HOWTO/ or something similar. Chances are you don't have a vorex either. Also someone told me there is an issue with SB's and CD-ROM's on 7.2 - they had to recompile the kernel. Don't know if this applies to 7.3
