Question sound problems with games

I'm using Mandrake 9.2 for AMD64 and the installed KDE. My soundcard is an audigy...and here is my problem:

When playing games with fasttracker-sounds (tuxracer, frozen bubble...) I have big problems with distorted sounds. Sound effects (wav files, mp3's) making no problems, only the .it or.xm files for example are played back with big distortion.
I tried an other soundcard, tried alsa, oss and vendor-drivers, played with the kde-soundserver, tried gnome but nothing works.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot if so...
