Sound Problems
Please i have a problem hearing any sound on my system.
Anybody with the solution should pls help me.:tisk: |
I have moved this to Linux Newbie. On to your problem:
which distro are you using? what's your hardware? what have you tried already? And I have renamed your thread because "Help Me!" tells us nothing at all about your problem. |
Have you ran alsamixer to make sure that your sound and PCM is not muted?

I really appreciate you all,but what are you telling me to update?
ls it the Fedora Core 5 or what? If it is,what command do i use from the terminal, because FC5 does not update normally, but from the terminal. Thank you very much for all this,Love you all. |
Code:
yum update It is like the Windows Updates =:o) |
Let me paint this picture clearly.I have a Dell product (INSPIRON| B130)
Which may not be in circulaion while FC5 was publish,My soundcars for windows work perfectly, but for my linux thats where i have problem. I guess i need an update but how? Thank you. |
I had an issue on my Dell Latitude. In the BIOS there's a setting for sound giving you the options for 'half-duplex', 'full-duplex' and 'disable'. After wrestling with my sound for days, I finally got my sound recognized and no little red x over the speaker icon. I still couldn't get it to work. It wasn't until I changed it in the BIOS to 'full-duplex' that I actually was able to use it.
