Sound Problem in Slackware 12.1

I recently installed Slackware 12.1 in my other computer.

The sound works fine if I log in as root

I get no sound if I log In as user

I installed the complete package iso from DVD

You need to add the users to the audio group, there are also other groups as well, try this command as root to add the user to all the right groups:

usermod -Gaudio,cdrom,floppy,plugdev,video username
