sound problem in hp dv5118tx

I m new to linux.. i had installed a fedora 7 in hp dv511g tx.. i had installed vlc and try to run a mp3 but no sound is coming... what should i do in order to bring sound...
plz reply..

Too have mp3 support, i believe you have to install:


otherwise you could install:


But wouldn't it be a lot better too use amarok for music instead of VLC ? allthough you'll still need gstreamer !
