hi, i have basically the same problem > no sound in slack 9.1
when i run alsaconf it gives an error of no supported PnP or PCI cards.
It is an onboard sound card , i can find the model somewhere if it's required.
I have no sound at all, any ideas? Would i need to find drivers or something??
thanks -John

what does /sbin/lspci -v tell you about your sound card?

hi johntramp, you'll get better attention, if you start your own thread, stating your specific problem. if i were you, i'd start a new thread, w/a tilte like no sound in slackware. you'd also do well to go ahead and post some specifics, i.e. system specs, mobo, sound card, etc. also the output of

/sbin/lspci -v

and the output of

lsmod

w/all of that info, in a newly created thread, you should have some help soon.
good luck.:)
