Sound card not working

I have a Creative Labs SB Audigy sound card, which is recognized by my system, but refuses to produce sound. I have alsa installed, and I've tried just about every tutorial I can find. Nothing's changed, except I managed to break my motherboard sound output as well after messing with my /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf

Could someone please help me?

The output of sudo lspci -v

I disabled the onboard sound controller in the BIOS, and also tried a complete manual reinstall of alsa. Neither seemed to have any effect.

I fixed it.

led to the extremely short conclusion of my troubleshooting. I MAY have needed all the work I did (ie. rebuilding modules and reinstalling packages), but it turns out that pressing a single key ("M") on the "analog/digital output jack" setting in alsamixer rediverted and hence fixed the sound in the end.

I remember this from playing around with a soundblaster live I used to own, and that that setting sort of worked like a mute button.

YAY!!!!!!!! And thanks.
