thks to those who helped me out before. i've finally got X working w/ red hat 7.2

anyway, now that i can see, i cant hear! can anyone teach me how to setup the sound blaster audigy? really need some help here....

get a terminal up, as root, and type in

sndconfig

than press enter

sndconfig? is it the same as choosing going into setup? but still both of them doesnt seem to work. is there a driver i can download from the internet? i'm using the SB Audigy.

i just downloaded this driver - osslinux395f-2x.tar.gz, but how do i install it?

First unpack it and then it should have an install and/or readme as to the drivers. To un-tar it do this:

tar -xzfv osslunx395f-2x.tar.gz

That should unpack it for you. Look for a directory of that name after you do that.

you need to go to opensource.soundblaster.com and keep an eye out for support for your card.

their drivers don;t work yet for audigy cards yet but when they do you will be sorted.
