sort of struck

I've been using redhat nine for a while now, and I just recently installed ximian. Its very convenient for my purposes, and redcarpet seems to ease the rpm difficulties I was facing quite a bit, but for some reason every once in a while my mouse will just stop working. I'll be able to control the machine by keyboard and can perform operations as normal, but the mouse just sits still.

I'm really sort of baffled. Any suggestions?

What type of mouse, USB, PS/2?

Did you check the relevant logfiles?
/var/log/XFree86.0.log
/var/log/syslog
/var/log/messages
/var/log/debug

Cheers,
Tink
