Sony CDROM problems.....

Prob a simple prob to solve but have been trying for ages!

Have a Sony 32x/10x/40x CDRW drive in slackware 9.1 Machine and it wont mount Audio CD's. Mounts and runs data CD's ok

Could not mount device.

the reported error was:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad
superblock on /dev/cdrom.

or too many mounted file systems

I appologise in advance if this is a :newbie: Question

Hi joshua!

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.org. Usually, media CD's cannot be mounted. That will be similar when mounting DVD's or VCD's for example... Simply put the cd/dvd on the drive and fire up the media player. (workbone, or whatever you've installed ;)). It should start playing...
