Unhappy Somthing like "Autostart ?


Hi there,
i just installed Mandrake Linux 8.1 Download Edition.

Now i would like to install an IRC Server and i would like Linux to start it with the system. So my question, how can i install somthing like an Autostart for this Program ?

you can add it in your startup scripts to start upon bootup...

Sorry.. i don't know where i can find the startup scripts. How do i have to edit them ?

use whatever editor you want, eg pico:

su
pico /etc/rc.local

easy. You'd think three'd be a hard way to do it like in windows ehh?

oh, shoulda said... if it's a server, it'll probably set itself up to run on boot anyway
