I am also very new to *nix all in general but I started out using FreeBSD 4.5 (don't know how I managed to pull this one off) but from there I just learned a lot about it. And I've tried everything from NetBSD to Debian to Slackware to Solaris. So amazing how they are similar and yet so much different in many ways.

Is it just me, or is emacs a virus? Its been awhile since I had to reboot a system because I couldn't figure out how to exit a program after 5 fraggin minutes! Pico is much more user friendly.
emacs is like hell at start but on start, there's some key combination (ctrl+H i thought) wich brings you to a starters tutorial, read the start screen carefully I like pico more too btw there's a more advanced version called nano (check the nano website.
