someone help fast
 
I had just been introduced to linux by my work, so I decided to put mandrake 10.1 on my home computer. Now the problem that arrized is that when I go to install it, it likes bringing up that sometimes up to 60 some odd files wont install. then when finally it does install the screen is to large for the monitor. I need help here, i tried to reinstall it to put in the stuff that I wanted that I forgot at install, but now it does it again. some one help. I am definetly a :newbie: at linux

You need to be a bit more specific about the problem.

What screen resolution are you setting mandrake to when you are installing and what resolutiondo you run windows on in that screen?

Were did you get the cd from? Did you download it and burn it yourself? if so, then it's likely you got a bad ISO or a bad burn. Please be more specific next time, your new, so we'll forgive you...;)

I had the same thing with 10.1, bad ISO images floating around I think. 10.0 was rock solid for me.

It's at the same screen res that my windows was sat to. the big problem is the not installing part. which I fixed last night some how...don't know how I did it though. I got it working the res is better, though not perfect. thanks for your help though...

you could change the resolution from mandrake control center
