some questions need to be fullfilled
Ok, i installed fedora core 3
I would like to know how to install/get the programs onto the workstations: Anti-Virus Flash Player Java (to play the java applets) -------------------------------- I dont what it means when it says RPM or Linux no clue is fedora rpm. which one and where do i put those installation files. thank you |
you will not need anti-virus because you are not running a Microsoft product for which 99% of viruses are written for.
get flash from http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/macromedia/site_ucsc.html get java from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html You will have to make symbolic links to certain java files in your mozilla plugins directory, go here to find out how to do this http://www.atd.ucar.edu/rtf/include/...nuxPlugin.html |
Anti-virus: you shouldn't really need one (yet, heh heh), but if you want, check out an app called Clamav (and for KDE it's front-end, Klamav)
Flash player: from Macromedia, of course. surf there and you will find an installer (for browsers: Mozilla has directions for you in their site, basically copy or link, can't remember which, some files from the extracted flash player package to some browser dir) Java: surf to java.sun.com and grab the java-runtime environment package (often called j2re so you'll find it...Java2RuntimeEnvironment). that should do...again, installing it to browsers depends on the browser, but their websites will have info for you. |
