Some questions and problems about RH 9.0

So let`s get started!
I have got installed Red Hat 9.0 Linux on my server, and i have some questions and problems about it!? khmm

1. How to make to user to have all privileges like root to chance or delete files.... and because

2. i can`t run EGG DROP`s like ROOT, only like user but i want to be in root!

3. I have got digital photoaparat (AIPTEK POCKET CAM 3M) and when I turn it on and I connect it to computer, the linux don`t recognize it, so I can`t see pictures on it?!

4. I have got set up my resolution, but something is not O.K.!
Why is fonts so big? my fonts are in half of screen, grrrrrr ! that is happening in Open-Office and browser Conqueror!

5. On my second computer i have got Linux SuSE 9.0 and i`m very pleased because i like it!? so what do you think to have SuSE 9.0 for web server and running egg drops?

6. My last question is that i`m interesting in doing web pages so i can`t edit my web page in linux but i love macromedia dreamweaver! i`m already try with wine but hmmmm i don`t know, maybe i get used to it!?

This is really not recommended. Especially for a server. Only the superuser should have root permissions. If you are logging in as a normal user and are tired of constantly typing 'su -', root password, and then doing whatever you want, then you can try sudo. I use it because I'm lazy, but my laptop is not a server and is well protected from the outside world.

So really, is it _that_ much trouble to type the root password every once in a while?

1. su -
password

2. What is Egg Drop and why do you want to be root?

3. I tried to google for that and nothing came up. Maybe it is not supported. More information if you have it.

4. Start -> System Settings -> Display -> Enter Password -> you can change your resolution.

5. SuSe can be used as a web server. You will want to install only what is needed for a particular server.

6. I don't think dreamweaver will work in wine. You can write web pages using any of the text editors to hand code it. AbiWord, Bluefish, OpenOfiice, etc.
