Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead

hi, i am using ubuntu 8.04 and evrytime i run sudo apt-get update, the following takes place
netbase2@netbase2:~$ sudo apt-get update

from there i cant figure the way out, some one please help, if you need more information please do ask

It seems you have some entries in your /etc/apt/sources.list that point to repositories that don't exists anymore. Try commenting out any entries that caused an error and then run apt-get update again.
