Solved Lynx - pppd problem

Hey all
Sorry the post. It seems all I had to do was set minicom terminal
to ANSI. So problem solved. I am able to get on line with Lynx now.

Just a question though. Being new to Linux I was wondering if this is
the best text based way to go. I can try links to but is their any
other text based browsers out their for Linux.
I have an older machine with a Stealth Diamond 64 DRAM S3Trio64 2Mb
video ram video card and I Xfree86 does not seem to support my card,
although documentation on the web and on Xfree86 says it does.My experience
with the Xfree86 forum and Xfree86 in gerneral has been horrible - no
help their - I have tried different config files - generic vga mode -
nothing I still get the no devices found error. So I have decided not to
use X or Xfree86 because a GUI is not worth the money for a so called supported video card. Any suggenstions would be most helpful
thanks

What about w3m?

http://w3m.sourceforge.net/

As for your vid card, beware of the XF86Config and XF86Config-4 files. if you are running xf86config make sure the new file is being written to the correct file (-4 or regular) and restart x.

Thanks, will try - I appreciate the help - I am trying to keep my old box alive - I have a new laptop but my Pentium box is not dead yet man.
So I configured slackware for my scsi hard drive - maybe support for my
monitor and video card is in the rc.modules where my scsci support was - I guess I should check - but I doubt it. One more thing
My monitor has a WIN logo in the left hand corner of the monitor.
I have never heard of winmonitors before - is it possible my monitor is
Windows specific?? - I sure as hell hope not
