Solaris volcheck equivalent in Linux

Hi Folks,

I have recently installed Linux Fedora. My cdrom drive is auto mounted to /media/cdrecorder. This works fine to a point. I put in a CD and can read the files. I then used eject cdrecorder and it popped out the cd.

When I put in a new CD I can't see the files. In Solaris I used volcheck to refresh. If I switch to the root user and umount and mount the files appear.

Is there a way for a non privileged user to refresh the contents of the cdrom directory.

Many thanks,

Dopey

You could write a script to umount/mount it for you, then just run the script as root. Or, even an alias for that matter.
