Software Troubles


HELLO EVERY ONE. I'm not yet online with my linux (suse) pc. So I was downloading stuff to disc on my windows pc to put on my linux pc. But when I use it it will not work. Does windows do somthing to the files that so linux cannot read them?

Can you post some more information please.

What do you mean by "but when i use it it will not work"? Do you get some sort of error message? Can you post it here?.

as far as i know windows should not change the files (.bz2 or .tgz i presume).
check if you can download a md5 checksum of the wine copy you've obtained and copy that to the cd and check it in linux to make sure your download is error free.
and are you unzipping corectly in the command line (ignore this if your using Xserver to unzip)

I'm no Guru so that's my only idea.
