Software Raid RH 7.3

I am trying to install RH 7.3 on a new server w/ two 40 GB IDE HDs in RAID 1. I get to partitioning w/ Disk Druid and am lost even after following all RH instructions i can find. I would like the machine to be able to contine running if one drive goes down.
1) When do i need to create the RAID partition?
2) which drive do i need to create raid partitions on or is it both?
3) What size would i have to make it?
4) What mount point would i select ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive been beating my head into my desk for 2 days.

disk druid offers you this option. first, you need to create two similar partition (one in each drive) for a partition mount point (i.e /home or /usr). forex, to create /home:

1. create a partition in /dev/hda and then /dev/hdb with similar size:

/dev/hda2 - 10 GB
/dev/hdb2 - 10 GB

the filesystems should be set as "Software Raid".

2. once the partitions are created, you can then select the option "Make RAID" in druid's main menu. here, you'll be asked which pair to use and what mount point will it be assigned to.

once the raid partitions are created, disk druid should show it - /dev/md1 with the corresponding partitions (/dev/hda2 /dev/hdb2) linked together.

the gui installation is a straight forward process so i'm sure you won't get lost there.

hth.

would i then make my other partitions ie boot and swap and will they need to be configured with raid as well in order for the machine to be able to boot off of either drives?
