kristinacuddeback,

Welcome to LQ.

More information is needed such as:
Make & model of laptop.
Linux distribution.
Web browser.
What specifically is wrong with the laptop after the “reset”?

When this is fixed, I suggest that you put a decent password on the laptop which is unknown to the kids.

A full re-install might be faster than troubleshooting. At a minimum fsck the filesystem, which may have already happened if you rebooted.

If they're anything like my cat, they likely triggered some hotkey that changed some configuration settings. Deleting the configuration file and restarting the browser can help reset things to defaults. Otherwise Cntrl + key or Alt + key combos can trigger things. Likely the cursor keys being the other key for things like fast forward.

~/.adobe
~/.macromedia

Two of the know configuration locations for flash player. So using rm or mv on those and restarting the browser might restore sane defaults without a full re-install. Or start mashing keys to trigger the undo for whatever they triggered. It depends on how much time you want to spend on it. And more information is likely needed for more specific help.

Hi Kristina...

Glad your boyfriend was able to get it fixed. :)

If you would, please mark this thread as "SOLVED."

Thanks!
