Smoothwall install problem

I have installed SmoothWall 1.0 on a system.
The actual install process was uneventful but I can not gain access to the administration web pages on either port (81 or 445).
I can ping the machine from other computers on the network so the TCP/IP stack is running but if I run the ps command on the SmoothWall machine it only shows login, bash, and ps.
What log files should I be looking at (where are the located)?
What else should I be doing to try and track this down?

Thanks for your help,
Steve

http://greenipnumber:81 or https://greenipnumber.445

Do ps -e or ps -ax to get the full list.

Peter,

Thanks for the help.
That shows a bunch more stuff but "SmoothWall" is nowhere in the list.
Is there a text log of the boot process (the info that is displayed on the monitor) that I can review to try and track this down? Most of that stuff scrolls by so fast I can't read it.
Thanks,
Steve

try in /var/log/messages

less /var/log/messages
q to exit

There is no service called 'smoothwall'
just the individual programmes.
Look for 5 versions of httpd running.
This is the web interface.

Peter,

I have the 5 instances of httpd.
Also 5 of mingetty.

The messages log has:

SmotheWall SmotheWall: started
SmotheWall init: Entering runlevel: 3
SmotheWall PAM_pwd[238]: (login) session opened for user root by LOGIN(uid=0)

as the last three entries.

.
.
.
Aaaahhhhh!!!
I'm a jerk!

I needed to set my browser "no proxy for" setting to exclude the smoothwall IP address.

Thanks for your help.
Have a good weekend!
Steve
