SMOOTHWALL HELP Please Read

Well I have been reading up on smoothwall, I must of Sifted through hundreds of pages of info so far.

I have got a driver for my internal modem but dont have a clue what the command lines are or how to install it as its stored on a windows 2000 domain controller.

I can get access to the driver when ever i need but i dont know how to get it onto Smoothwall.

I have been thing about telnet. I thought i could access my smoothie box this way...

I can connect to it on port 222 (sercure port) but keep getting an error saying protocol mismatch

I dont know ??? I must be going mad...

If any body can help.. it would be GREAT

Well as port 222 is a smoothwalls ssh server trying to connect with telnet would be a little tricky.

Try using scp (windows version here: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~s.../download.html )

You might have some problems as smoothwall doesn't come with a compiler and most winmodem drivers need to be compiled at some point.

I'd suggest splashing out £35 and getting yourself a real modem.
