Sme Server help

Hi guys, would appreciate some help if possible...

I am a real newbie to linux so please explain in simple terms!

I have downloaded, installed and set up sme server, works well and i have stored files on it from my local network.

I am trying to access it from the internet, but am having some difficulty in getting it to work. if I use the public ip, nothing happens... it doesnt even come up against my router

could someone give me some pointers?

kind regards in advance

I would look at iptables on the sme server and also the firewall rules on the router, sounds as if the traffic is either blocked or dropped. I haven't worked with sme server so i don't know the details of it but this should be the best spot to start off looking for the problem.
