SMB services


How do stop these services from starting up automatically when my kernel is decompressing...in fact it says SMB services starting ang just hangs there and the machine wont boot.can i get some help please i am new to linux,

1. Boot into single user mode :

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/l...ng-single.html


2. login: root[Enter]
password:[Enter]

3. mount -o remount,rw /

4. /sbin/chkconfig smb off

5. init 6
