Maybe your samba service is not installed. Check with :
# rpm -qa | grep samba

Answer number 1:

In the konqueror location bar, type
smb:/ (notice only one slash)

Answer number 2:

open up the kinfocenter
(if it is not on your kmenu, just press alt-f2, and type in
kinfocenter)
click on protocols, then, if the protocol is installed, click on smb
You will see a page of information.
