smartmontools on SAS drive?

How can I use smartmontools to monitor my SAS drives? SMART is enabled on the disks but when I do smartctl -a or -c I don't get much:

Quote:
> smartctl -i /dev/sda

Device: FUJITSU MBB2147RC Version: 0105
Serial number: BS00P8901VU7
Device type: disk
Transport protocol: SAS
Local Time is: Thu Mar 19 12:26:28 2009 GMT
Device supports SMART and is Enabled
Temperature Warning Enabled

Looks pretty much like the output I get, although I don't get off as easy as referring to my sas drives as simply as /dev/sdx
