Slow Open Office & Password

Friends,

I am working with Suse 10.1. and generally very happy that I changed from MS.
I would have many questions, but two are important right now.

When I try to write a simple document, or try to open an already existing one, then Open Office takes an enormously long time to do that.
Is there a shortcut somehow?? I am not in hurry, really, but I feel that I might just have to change something here....
All I am using from Open Office is simply write letter occasionally with it.

When I switch on my computer, it never asks me for a password. When it is already working and I change to a different user, then it does. Now this seems absurd, as there is already access to everything after simply turning the computer on. Can I change Suse 10.1. so it will automatically ask for a password, when I switch it on?

Thank you for your help

Look for the Open Office quickstarter in your YAST repositories. That preloads OOo and speeds up the startup time. As far as your password goes, again in YAST, or in the KDE Control Center, look for the login settings - there is probably a box which is ticked to allow autologin.

Sorry I can't be more exact, I don't run Suse
