slight mepis glitch!

Hi all.........firstly, please excuse me if this sounds stupid; anyway, installed mepis and think it is absoutely wonderful; just a slight hickup as far as connection to a few sites. For example, Shoutcast gives me a momentarily error 'could not connect' and hotmail 'sorry this page cannot be displayed' but promptly goes on to make the connection. On the other hand when trying to download a package it goes through the motions and then hangs - doesn't make the connection like the aforementioned.

Do I have to enable cookies somewhere other than when prompted? I know this is a little niggle and sorry to trouble folk but would appreciate any advice.......cheers !!!

Have you tried disabling the firewall? If things act normally then, you'll know that that is the place to look.
