Slew of issues regarding CentOS

Hello Community,

I just had my VPS (spry) updated on yesterday and it did not come installed with Cpanel. So I made many attempts to install and ran into many issues regarding (yum, python and gcc).

I don't think that they are currently installed and I am having little luck starting with gcc to get it going so I can begin the journey of making python and yum to work to even begin setting up CPanel.

What steps do I need to take to reinstall GCC on CentOS 4.3 because I keep running into permission denied issues and a host of other things.

What exactly am I doing wrong?

Biting off more than you can chew. :) Take small steps, work through your problems one by one. CentOS is a complex operating system that will take you a while to learn.

Here are some good resources to get you started:

Sorry that I can't be of more specific help, however CentOS 4.3 is a very old release, and I only have personal experience with 5.x. Just a word of encouragement I guess. :)
