SLES 9 Unable to connect to X Server as root su -
 
Unable to run programs as su - (root) from command line.
example: kfind or yast2
error: cannot connect to X Server

After I exit as root, I am able to excute both commands successfully.

I will not work as su -.

Operating System: SLES 9 (using KDE).

What is the value of $DISPLAY before and after you switched the user by su?
