Slax cant boot (Please help me)

Please someone help, i'm a beginner, i'm only 1 week old in linux world.

I face a problem here. I download and burn slax standard from the download page (http://www.slax.org/download.php).
But when i try booting it, it hang at atuomatic hardware detection phase.

I try pulling out my pc devices and i found the problem is with my prolink usb adsl modem/router. Slax boot successfully without connecting prolink modem.

I need this modem/router to work as its my only way to go internet, please help me.

A soft option is to try another distro, say Puppy or Kanotix or Ubuntu

Sad to said i try knoppix 5, same problem, it say devices error (or something like that) then kernel panic.
But when i remove the modem/router, everything ok.

Thank for your solution anyway but i really like slax, it can add/remove program very easily (Slax creator).

May be it is the way it is connected. I never gone into USB ADSL router myself as went for the soft option of replacing it with a wireless router which has 4 ethernet ports. Such a router has no need for any driver and every OS you use can get into the internet if your network card is recognised.

How about Puppy Linux? It was mentioned above.

Thank for all of your help. Ya, i'll try puppy linux later, thank.

I think maybe because of the usb issue, nothing to do with distr. I try ubuntu just now, same problem. Maybe linux just cant detect usb router.

If anyone got any suggestion, please advice, if no, i'll just go without internet.
At least this forum got reply, unlike slax offical forum.

Thank.
