Slackware source code

I am running slackware7.0:
I am not using xwindows.
I have the source code for slackware on a cd. The source code is not tar'ed.
I can mount the cd and read its contents.
I think I am supposed to install it in /usr/src.
But, I cannot figure out how to get the source code from the cd to my hardrive efficiently. All i can think of is going through everything on the cd and transfering it one at a time to my hard drive, which seems ridiculous.
I would really appreciate any help!

You could tar the contents and then untar it in a different location. Or you could just do a 'cp -a * /usr/src/src_cd/'

THANK YOU! MIK

that was so helpful!!!
I had been reading documentation on the kernel and devices and they all talked about changing the source code and compiling it. I did not know if it was mandatory for the source code to be in a certain directory because other files would need to point to the source code, i.e.
in order for the kernel to compile it needs to find some specific file located in
/usr/src/blah/blah/right_here
and if it wasn't in there then you could'nt compile.

Thanks alot for your help
