slackware net configure
 
hello folks....i have slackware 10.2 flavour of linux on my system......i m not able to configure internet on my system.......my system's hardware configuration are as follows
915 chipset,gigabyte motherboard,pentium 4 processor,256 mb ram and PCI realtek LAN card......
i hav tried netconfig command but it did not work.........
kindly help me to fix this problem........

Do you have the drivers for your LAN-card loaded? What is the exact type of your LAN-card?

If you type lsmod as root there should be something listed as r8169 which is the driver for your card. If that is the case you could try to edit /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf to match your settings.
