Slackware, I installed it but now I have deeper problems. I was so close!

It's no problem, don't be sorry.

I ended up reinstalling Slack after getting angry and this time I chose for it to install as a master boot record and it erased Grub.

Figured out the login, but thanks.

for future reference...there probably isn't actually an admin password for the recovery console..unless your dad specifically set one...at the prompt for the admin password, just hit enter, and you should be in...
