slackware eth0 setup
I've just switched from Mandrake to Slackware, and I've installed everything fine, im just trying to get the internet connection set up. I have cable, and I remember when I had Mandrake running it pretty much detected my connection automatically, or asked me if im connected to a LAN, at boot I would see "detecting internet connection eth0", something like that, but Mandrake isnt here to hold my hand anymore so I need to figure out how to setup my ethernet connection. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks for your advice, but I was actually able to enable my ethernet connections with:
ifconfig eth0 up followed by: dhcpcd eth0 |
netconfig is required when u have not setup ur ethernet card/ip address
