Slackware + CDs
 
Hello, heh this is my first post just wanted to say hi but umm.. thats actually not the real reason why i'm posting I will explain below:

Well, my computer is not the best and I don't have a CD burner and I want to get Linux Slackware setup on my computer i'm a linux newbie, Yeah but the problem is.
That I don't have a CD Burner thus the conclusion is I cannot burn the slackware CDs what I am pretty much trying to ask is if anyone could send me the slackware Cds through the mail I would really appreciate it. Well your probally thinking "well whats in it for me huh why should I help this punk newbie" well the truth is there is nothing in it for you it must be out of the kindness of your linuxian heart :P

2) You dont need a cd tp install slackware, you can download that distro on floppy disks. read on
http://www.slackware.com/install/softwaresets.php

3) CD burners are cheap these days (about $56 canadian)..buy one

4) You can wait for someone to answer this post.

Yeah, but well my family kinda poor :P and I'm 14 not old enough to work so I can eliminate the CD Burner unless you plan on making a hearty donation rofl

and umm.. I sure dont feel like putting slackware and 25000 differnt diskettz
And now Windows is pissing me off again argh...

well like his link provided above, slackware 9 is only 7 bucks at linux central.. not bad really imho...

Oh, I forgot I do have the Debian CD's the newest version but it's kind of complicated to installl and I just want somthing to begin with get in my computer over and done with...

Where do you live? and its not 25000 diskettz..its about 14 if I remember correctly. Do you have broadband connection? if you do thn you can install redhat off the internet..not sure about slackware.

Some distros have images of their cds available for downloading.
What I did was install Zipslack(http://www.slackware.com/zipslack/) and use it to install the rest of the stuff on my image.

Well, ive got my mom who has a burner to let me download the RedHat v9.0 ISO's on her computer wich is really rare!

I wish to Thank all of you who reply'd and ill click your Affero links :)

But hey if you still feel like sending me the CD's I still wouldn't mind

good to hear that you got it. You can afford $45/month DSL and cant afford to buy a cdwriter/linux cd's? ...hmm. Anyway, redhat 9.0 is great!
