slackware can't open mozilla as user

Hi,

I've just installed Slackware 10. Mozilla and Mozilla mail work when I'm logged in as root (gnome), but when I'm logged in as a regular user, the Mozilla windows will not open. Mozilla processes appear to be running. When try to start mozilla at the command line I get a series of messages like ***Registering -webcal handler ****Registering text/calendar handler, etc, but no GUI.

Any thoughts??

is this a fresh install of 10.0?

this was a known problem, and i'm sure if you searched LQ, you'd've already found the answer... i think you had to update to 1.7.3 to fix mozilla, but the bigger problem is: why are you running non-root tasks as root?
