Slackware 9.0 problems

hey guys i have just recently converted over to slackware 9.0 after my speedtouch usb adsl modem being a pain to install on RH9, anyways i was just wondering how to find out where asactly my usb modem is plugged in? like uchi-usb, as i need to set it up right in setup-adsl, also is the SpeedTouch USB modem preinstalled in Slackware "drivers".

Might be worth investing a few ££s ($$?) in an ethernet card and running your connection using DHCP. That way DHCP can be brought up at boot avoiding the adsl_setup thing. You just have to make sure the card is compatible (realtek chipsets etc have a google!).

Slackware has hotplug enabled by default. Hotplug will initialize your USB drivers, mount /proc/bus/usb, and load any driver for a device connected to the USB bus.

looks like "lsusb" and "usbtree" allow you to list the connected devices at the console :), you could browse /proc/bus/usb yourself too.

What modules are loaded? (type "lsmod", and use "modinfo <name>" to get information about the module).

I've read that adsl uses the ppp protocol, you you should configure a /dev/ppp0 device instead of /dev/eth0 (but this is a wild guess)
