slackware 12.2 quits in the middle of installation

When I try to install Slackware 12.2 from the disk, when it installs the packages, it stops at the file, "gettext-tools-0.17-i486-2.tgz". It kills it, then it says,
Code:
# cd: 9: cannot cd from [directory]
# cd: 10: cannot cd from [directory]
Can someone identify the problem?

Is this a burned CD? If so try downloading the package again, checking the MD5 sum. You may have data loss. If its offical package or CD, check with the distro FAQ to see if you can locate why it could be doing this.

I checked the FAQ's and there's nothing about it. I checked the CD and the package is there. How to you check the md5 sum again? I forget.

Hi,

If you downloaded the cd/dvd iso then be sure to check the md5sum for the original iso. From the cli;

Code:
~#cd /downloadisolocation      #cdromiso.iso cdromiso.md5

~#md5sum -c cdromiso.md5       #substitute the correct name to check
This will check the download iso with the known md5sum that you also get with the iso.

You could have a bad burn, to check the cd/dvd with the original iso md5, use this CdromMd5sumsAfterBurning.

If you are using M$ Windows then look at 'md5sum.exe'.

These links and others can be found at 'Slackware-Links'. More than just SlackwareŽ links!
