Slackware 10.2 Mouse and startx errors

Hey all,

I just loaded up Slackware 10.2 with kernal 2.4.31 on my Dell Latitude X1 laptop.

Everything installed fine but I have having issues when I startx. Is it the mouse causing the problem, or other issues?

Here is a screen shot of the errors I am getting:

I would like to be able to at least use the onboard mouse touchpad, but also have a Microsoft wireless USB mouse that I would like to use.

Also, The install is a vmware install, not sure if that makes a differance. Having the same problem on my desktop install also.

Anyone have any suggestions?

What did you do to setup X?

Use 'xorgsetup' (easy, fast, not complicated) or 'xorgconfig' (need to know the hardware specs of your computer)

I would disconnect the usb mouse when setting up X, just to keep things simple. Then after it's working, get the USB mouse to work .

Here is my xorg.conf
for you to look at. I'm using a Alps Touchpad and a USB wireless mouse.

And my webpage has more info on setting this old thing up. It may help you.
