Slackware 10.0 server configuration

Ok, this is probably a bit complicated.

I've got two network cards in the desktop that I just installed Slackware 10.0 on. As it is, I don't have much experience with linux - but this is a good excuse to get some, because I want to play around with it a little.

I need to figure out how to configure it to be a firwall and mailserver. 1 NIC will be plugged into my DSL modem. The other NIC will go to a linksys router for my LAN.

Maybe a few tutorials, or suggestions on which MAN pages to read would help. I don't know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David

man iptables

is good as a reference, but not really as a starting
point I have to admit :)

Have a look at
http://www.linuxguruz.com/iptables/

As far as sending mail goes:
Slack comes with reasonably sane defaults for
sendmail, but may want to consider other products
like exim or postfix ...

Cheers,
Tink

Thanks for the man pages - but yes, I'll have to agree. After looking at them, they aren't designed for beginners.

Thanks for the links. I'll see what I can find out, and maybe get something working here pretty soon.
