Slackware 10.0 install help

I need help!!

Ive finished partitioning the drive, i've got:

/dev/hda6 = / (root) ~2gb
/dev/hda7 = swap 512Megs
/dev/hda8 = /home ~2gb

(they are all logical/extended and not primary)

so i typed fdisk -l and it said they were all of type 'linux'

so i did:
mkswap /dev/hda7
sync
swapon /dev/hda7

then i said fdisk -l again and no error messages, but they still all show up as 'linux' (even though hda7 probably should be marked 'linux swap').

Then when i go into setup, and It says i haven't set up any swap space, even though i have. What am i doing wrong?
