slackpkg uprgade-all. I need to step back
Hi everyone,
My stupid big mistake. I did a # slackpkg update directly after # slackpkg upgrade-all the system got frozen at e*-packages. I rebooted and now I just can't log in Kde. My question is as simple as silly were my command lines : Is there a way to "step back" to the initial system? Something like # slackpkg reinstall former version .... If something exists, please write full command line(s) knowing that only packages from "a" to "emacs-23.3..." are concerned. Keep my fingers crossed as I couldn't find a solution after a couple of hours on google |
I'm not sure that slackpkg can handle a roll-back (I'm kinda a noob with it), but if you have access to older packages, just do a re-install with upgradepkg or installpkg (upgradepkg is probably a better idea). Slackware doesn't track versions (at least I think it doesn't), and treats any package as "new".
