Slack stoped recognizing my usb drive

Hi there!

When i installed, i added

/dev/sdb /mnt/usb auto defaults 0 0

to /etc/fstab and with $mount /dev/sdb the system recognized my pendrives without a problem. But today i tried to copy some records and i get a "mount: No such file or directory" error, but the thing is right there.

I didn't changed anything, all i did in this time... was add my user to sudoers, and changed the display's configuration.

While i waited for an answer, i tried with /sdb1 and the pendrive's light whent on, so i added /dev/sdb1 to fstab and it works... so much for a problem, but i can't understand why it changed, i didn't do anything!
Sorry for asking, but i didn't think that is was something so silly and as i said, i didn't touch dev config at all. Can someone tell me a reason?
