Start the internet?
If you're running KDE, you need to go the bar on the bottom, and click the icon that looks like a gear surrounding a globe (Konqueror). That's your basic web browser; from there, you can download whichever one you want (I reccommed firefox).
You can check (easily) if you're on the internet by opening a console and typing "links
www.google.ca." If it loads (in the console), then you're good; if not, then you aren't actually connected to the internet.
