Slack download

I already have Slackware 10.1 installed and I like it, so I decided to try Slackware 10.2. I've found here 6 ISO-s with these names:
* x86
* x86 Install Torrents
* x86 Source
Which do I have to download do install Slack 10.2? Thank you.

Try http://www.slackware.com

The links on LQ ISO are just three ways to get the same stuff. The torrents are bittorrent hosts that will allow you to get slackware quick from a p2p network. The x86 cds are the standard slackware 1st and 2nd install cd2. The source CDs are the 3rd and 4th cds which have the entire distributions source on them. You can get this same stuff from slackware.com.

Thank you uopjohnson. But I have 1 more question: Slackware 10.1 had 4 cd's. Why Slackware 10.2 has only 2? I think I used only the first 3 cd's when I installed it, why does Slackware 10.2 have only 2 cd's? Thank you.

With slackware, CD1 has always been the 'core' system (CLI and the like), while CD2 is the graphical set (KDE, et cetera). I believe CD3 was the Source code and CD4 was "extras" (or vice versa). As to why Slack 10.2 doesn't have the other two CDs, I don't know.

All you really need are CDs 1 and 2 if you are going for a graphic system, CD1 if not.

Or just update all the packages to the Slackware 10.2 packages - I usually use swaret (it gives me no issues) but YMMV.

When you installed 10.1 I doubt you used CDs 3 and 4 they are just extra stuff. 10.2 just states this more openly in order to cut down on unnecessary downloads.

Whenever I install Slack, I just get Disc One and do the rest over the net.

disk 1 and 2 are the binarys and 3 and 4 are the source code...
