Skype sound problem with USB head set.

I can't hear anything when I am using my USB headset with Skype in test call (at least the voice of the lady who is speaking is not hearing), The problem is, this happens time to time and when the test call finishing (by clicking the red button)a sound hears suddenly and call finishes.I have no clue regarding this behavior and can somebody give me some help?
I am using Cent OS 5.4
