Skype on Centos 7 server set up?
Hi. I typically use Windows servers so Centos is foreign to me. I basically just need to set up Skype on a Centos 7 server, set it and forget it. The purpose of this is to merely stay logged in and forward to my cell phone. Do I need to install a GUI to configure this? If not, would you be so kind as to save me hours of research by telling me the following:
1. How to install Skype from SSH 2. How to log into Skype from SSH 3. How to set Skype to forward calls to a cell phone in 1 second 4. (If possible) how to have Skype as a service and always on If that can't be done by SSH, perhaps a link or two on how to set up a GUI?? Thank you!! |
Haven't done it myself but the instructions at this link seem fairly straightforward:
http://www.if-not-true-then-false.co...Speed=noscript Any instructions for CentOS/RHEL 7.1 would be appropriate in what he writes. Any that are specific to CentOS/RHEL6 only are not necessary where he differentiates. Fedora is a bleeding edge distro that is used as a test bed for what ends up in RHEL which is why the versioning is so different. CentOS on the other hand is built from the source code for RHEL as is SL so they tend to be very closely related. |
