Skype on Acer Netbook

Need help. Am trying to load Skype on Acer Netbook using Linpus Linux Lite a Fedora based system. I have no passwords loaded i.e. supervisor or user but Skype install requires a password to ''authenticate as root''.
I have tried installing passwords but they still didn't work to get rid of this msg. Is there a conflict between Linpus and Skype??

No there is no conflict between skype and Lnpus..

The password it's prompting for sounds like the Root user, or the user with sudo privileges to install new packages..

In order to perform updates and write new files to the system, you'll need to authenticate as root. To do so, go into Terminal (right-click on desktop, choose Terminal), and enter this command:

su root

Type in your password that you created when setting up the Aspire One for the first time.

Acer helpdesk has directed me to their website for a version of Skype. This has installed ok with no problems and NO requirement for any passwords.
Easy when you know how.
